Next I reconnected the printer USB to the computer and turned the printer on. The Epson driver would not delete until I deleted the Epson icon on the printer page. i told her I'd like to think about that a bit, concerned that the new driver might not work and possibly create other problems.Īfter opening up you email with your instructions, I unplugged the USB printer cable and deleted the Epson and the Canon printer icons from the Devices and Printers page, and then the Epson driver from the printer property page. She finally noted that she could turn me over to a technical person who could directly download the driver to my computer. Althea and I spent about 20 minutes on the phone ( she was duplicating my efforts on her computer) and we tried to get the download to work without success.

I had found the Canon site for downloads and tried to download the latest 2019 version (114mb) without success. I had a discussion this morning with a gal by the name of Althea at Canon. I'm slowly getting a handle on this computer. Hi again JohnC_21 and thank you for your very timely response. I haven't been able to find an updated driver for the D530 that, based on numerous posts, provides confidence that they would solve my problem.Īny comments, recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I next installed the Drivers again from the original dvd disk that came with the Canon. Status- driver unavailable and Status Not connected. i noticed that if I hover over the Canon icon in Control Panel a message appears: When I select the Canon printer in Control Panel as the active printer and try to print, the dialog box that comes up when I select 'Print" only shows an Epson printer. However the scan function still works fine. However, after Microsoft installed a few updates over the last ten days, the printer no longer worked. The installation worked OK, and the printer was able to print and scan. I then decided to install the original software from the disk that came with the Canon.

I selected that icon and tried to print a page, but it did not print. The computer did recognize the Canon and it appeared as printer icon in the Control Panel with a label underneath it as " unspecified (1)". The dealer I purchased it from said that Win 10 would automatically find the Canon printer and load the proper software and drivers for it. I purchased a computer two weeks ago with Win 10. I have a Canon Imageclass D530\D5660 that has been used on computers with OS's XP and Vista.
